Itinerary Summary

Day 1: Arrival in Santo Domingo

The driver greets visitors on arrival and accompanies them to the hotel. After a dinner in front of the Alcazar de Colon, you’ll visit a beautiful park for an evening stroll where you might see locals gathering for some rum-drinking, chatting, dominoes, and even dancing.

Day 2: Santo Domingo

Enjoy a half-day walking tour of Santo Domingo that sees visitors explore the colonial zone of Santo Domingo, a UNESCO world heritage site. The guide will point out notable examples of gothic architecture to admire. Santo Domingo is a place of many firsts – the Americas’ first university, hospital, and monastery were all built in the Dominican capital. Visitors will see these sites more on a flexible tour where travellers have some options to choose from. In the afternoon, we suggest visiting one of the city’s many museums.

Day 3: Las Terrenas

There is time in the morning to further explore Santo Domingo before taking the 2-hour journey to Las Terrenas. Once there, settle in the hotel where you can relax and rejuvenate in the hotel spa or recline on a sun lounger by the pool. Enjoy a sunset walk along Las Terrenas beach and discover the many local bars and restaurants.

Day 4: “El Limon” waterfall

Start the day with a trip through the Dominican countryside to see a rubber plantation and a traditional cigar factory, as well as an excursion through local villages to glimpse typical Dominican life. On arrival at El Limon ranch, get ready for a fabulous ride on horseback through the lush vegetation to access the country’s tallest falls – El limon waterfalls. Here, you can enjoy a swim, observe the wall of water and pass through it to take shelter in the caves that lie behind. After, you will return to the ranch for an authentic Dominican lunch.

Day 5:  Los Haitises National Park

Explore the richly diverse Los Haitises National Park, home to fantastic wildlife such as frigate birds, manatees, and pelicans. Enjoy a boat tour of the park with a helpful guide that will use their expert eye to help spot wildlife. You will walk on the sacred ground of three impressive caves and observe walls covered with indigenous petroglyphs and pictographs, which your guide will explain. Enjoy lunch within the park.

Day 6: Departure

Last chance to explore and appreciate the glorious beach of Las Terrenas before the departure flight.
