Most visitors will wear a t-shirt and shorts with flip-flops. There will be a dress code in specific places in Bali, such as wearing a sarong and scarf tied on your waist if you want to enter the temples.

Tipping is not common in Bali. As it is a personal matter, travellers are encouraged to tip any amount they feel is appropriate.

Most Balinese who live in a tourist area can speak basic English, and some Balinese are fluent in English. However, if you go to the quieter village side of Bali, you should approach the younger people that you meet, most of the older generation of Balinese are not able to speak English.

The common currency in Bali is Rupiah. Therefore, if you bring US dollars, you should change it first at the money exchange. In most tourist areas f Bali, money exchanges can be easily found.

If you stay more than 3 days in Bali, having a SIM card is recommended. It is quite cheap, and you can choose different data packages, so you do not have to worry about Wi-Fi all the time.
