As the green shoots appear in Asia and more destinations reveal their pathways back to normality (for the latest updates on destination openings, see our Destination Updates blog), we are delighted to announce more positive news with the recent acquisition of Grasshopper Adventures to join the Discova family. 

One of the world’s leading operators of sustainably focused bicycle tours specialising in multi-day adventures, the addition of Grasshopper Adventures is a demonstration of intent – most notably in the expansion of our product portfolio. With a proven track record of providing exceptional immersive active experiences that support community-based tourism and local businesses, Grasshopper Adventures have created a unique identity in the segment that marries perfectly with Discova’s own focus and core values. 

Grasshopper currently operate in 14 destinations across Asia

Established in 2004, the boutique brand has grown from a small wooden house in Bangkok to covering 14 destinations in Asia alone. During the pandemic, CEO Adam Platt-Hepworth expanded operations into the USA and Australia, capitalising on domestic travel trends and an upsurge in outdoor, active experiences. 

Our product portfolio has been expanding responsibly in recent years and now will benefit from the addition of Grasshopper Adventure’s responsible travel collection, while staying true to our own CVP: “own to operate”, allowing a new level of personalisation to an already impressive selection of tours and activities for Discova’s partners around the world.

Grasshopper Adventures founder Adam Platt-Hepworth, who will remain as Chief of Grasshopper Adventures as well as taking on the role of General Manager – Active Travel for Discova, shares our forward-thinking optimism about opportunities ahead.
