Discova Welcomes New Business Development and Account Manager to Fuel Growth in North America

In response to the burgeoning demand for immersive travel experiences in Asia and the Americas, Discova is thrilled to announce the expansion of its US team with the addition of two seasoned business development and account managers. These industry veterans bring a wealth of expertise and a deep understanding of the travel landscape to Discova, further strengthening the company’s position as a premier provider of curated travel experiences. 

Jorge Martinez Jr., Discova’s Business Development Manager for North America

Jorge Martinez Jr. has been officially appointed as Discova’s Business Development Manager for North America. In this role from New Jersey, he will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to expand Discova’s presence in the North American market.  

Jorge brings over a decade of experience in the travel industry, having worked in sales and product development. He is a passionate advocate for travel and believes that it is a life-changing experience that should be available to people from all walks of life. Jorge is fluent in Spanish and has extensive experience working with Latin American communities. 

A sportsman in heart and soul, a proud father of 3, and with a philosophy that immersive travel enriches lives in so many ways, his passion for exploring the world has been ingrained from a very young age. Having worked for destination management companies and leading US tour operators in both Asia and the Americas, Jorge’s extensive experience in expanding Discova’s foothold in North America is a strong asset. 

Irene Wong, Discova’s Account Manager for North America.

Irene Wong, a seasoned Asia travel specialist with over two decades of experience, joins Discova as an account manager. Based in Seattle, Irene brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in MICE operations, sales, and product development for custom FIT trips to Asia.  A fervent food enthusiast and outdoor adventurer, Irene harbours an insatiable curiosity for genuine local neighbourhoods, vibrant local markets, street foods, and trekking along secluded mountain trails. Her passion for authentic local experiences aligns perfectly with Discova’s commitment to immersive travel with a highly sustainable theme. 

Before joining Discova, Irene held various roles in the tourism industry for over two decades, including MICE Operations and sales Manager at Kunlun Hotel Beijing and Hotel Equatorial Ho Chi Minh City, Regional DOSM at Victoria Hotels & Resorts Vietnam & Cambodia, and Director of Product Development at Red Lantern Journeys.  

Her extensive travel experiences throughout Southeast Asia have shaped her deep understanding of the region’s diverse cultures and hidden gems as well full understanding of the customer journey and consistently learning about the ongoing developments in Asia and the Americas.
