Discova’s Community Experiences Take the Spotlight at Recent Trade Shows

November 25, 2025

From mid-October to mid-November, it’s quite the whirlwind for our sales leaders as they travel to major trade shows in Asia and Europe to connect with existing and potential partners and invite them to see Asia through our eyes. Discova’s regional expertise and longstanding partnerships with local businesses and communities mean that your guests experience a version of Asia that is experiential, immersive, and entirely authentic.

This year, our attendance at ITB Asia and WTM London coincided with the launch of our eco-conscious retreat, Kaura Bali, which was created in collaboration with the local communities of Manggis. A true labour of love, Kaura not just offers a comfortable stay in pavilions overlooking terraced rice fields and the ocean in the distance, but also community-led experiences which connect travellers more deeply to this wonderful place and its traditions.

Whether it was the booth designs, collaterals, incentives, or the brand merchandise we shared with key partners, Kaura was a prominent feature at both recent trade shows. Through numerous discussions, our team also shed light on our other community development projects across other Asian destinations like Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam and ways in which tourists can have a lasting positive impact at our destinations through their journeys.

With demand for Japan being high as ever, our partners were also happy to learn about our expansion to Hokkaido, whose distinct natural beauty, culture, and cuisine are a treat for any visitor. Next year, we will also be adding one of Japan’s neighbours to our expanding destination portfolio to showcase its historic frontiers, booming pop culture scene, and food that has become quite the global phenomenon. Stay tuned for more information!

Our final day at WTM London was dedicated to turning the spotlight on our remarkable colleague, Eileen Yee, and the educational fund we have established in her name. The donations from the Eileen Yee Educational Fund provide financial aid to disadvantaged high school students in our grassroots communities in Asia, significantly reducing high dropout rates.

We are now nearly halfway through our three-year goal of raising USD 90,900 to support the high school education of 101 students at our destinations. We were delighted to meet and thank our partners in person for their unwavering support for this cause. You can donate to the fund by clicking here.

Looking ahead, community immersion will remain at the forefront of our product curation. Our inherent belief in hosting fewer tourists, and more guests, will keep shaping our travel experiences for the better, as we introduce visitors to rich local cultures and foster meaningful connections that leave lifetime memories.
