Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG), knows how to celebrate BIG and how to reward its people. From 10 to 16 July, FCTG visited Bali, with top leaders experiencing our immersive Kaura Bali retreat for the very first time, and 1,800 top performing agents being rewarded with an epic weekend of fun and celebrations.
Discova was privileged enough to be the primary ground handler for FCTG, providing transportation services and a variety of experiences over the course of the Global Gathering week, including an incentive trip for six top Discova-product selling agents. The winners, Josh Mitchell, Fiona Kain, Jake Hodges, Lendl Oosthuizen, Vach Karmolphachak and Annalia Ghirardani, enjoyed an unforgettable 3-night stay in Bali. The stay included two nights at our passion project, Kaura Bali, and one night in the exceptional Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. Nick Shuttleworth, Discova VP of Sales for North America and Australia/New Zealand, hosted the group of Flight Centre agents.

We were also lucky enough to have all visiting 1,800 Flight Centre agents gather to paint 4,000 roof tiles for a new community centre, located at the entrance to our immersive retreat, Kaura Bali. The roof tiles will soon be added to the centre, which is well on its way to completion thanks to the generous donations of FCTG. The community centre is a place where local villagers will gather to exchange ideas and learn. It is especially designed to be a place of education in sustainability and creativity for the youth of Manggis, providing educational materials and a holistic space for learning.
Another special part of this week included an award won by our very own Ayu Kristiana. Ayu is our Indonesia Country Manager, and has been with Discova since 2015. FCTG hosted a fabulous award event on 15 July to reward top performing agents, as well as employees from other FCTG brands, like Discova. Ayu has been invaluable in making Indonesia one of our best-selling destinations, and won the Director’s Award for her outstanding leadership contributions.
