Discova is thrilled to announce the addition of Leonardo Bortolin to our team in Mexico as the destination’s new Country Manager. Leonardo, known to most as Leo, will assume his role on 28 September 2023.
With a career spanning several industries, Leonardo brings a wealth of experience to his new position. His journey in the travel industry began in 2017 when he joined CWT as the Global Supplier Manager for Mexico & Costa Rica. In this role, he demonstrated his expertise in consolidating travel service requirements, identifying market providers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring production alignment with internal strategies and customer expectations.
Leonardo joins us in the same month as our other latest Mexico additions: 14 new Toyota Hiace Commuters. Earlier in September these spacious, comfortable rides were added to our vehicle fleet here. These serve as part of our on-going service enhancements, ensuring that our partners’ travellers continue to get the best experience possible in Mexico. Check out the newbies on LinkedIn.
Before his tenure at CWT, in 2016, Leonardo served as the Chief Financial Officer in a digital marketing startup. Prior to that, he spent an impressive 18 years at American Express, where he held various key positions across operations, finance, marketing, and sales. Leonardo holds a degree in finance, a coveted Six Sigma black belt certification, and an MBA, underscoring his commitment to professional excellence.
Having relocated from Argentina to Mexico in 2012, Leonardo is firmly rooted in the local community. Beyond his professional pursuits, Leonardo is an avid sports enthusiast, both as a participant and spectator. Notably, he has recently ventured into the world of triathlons.
We extend a warm and hearty welcome to Leo, adhering to the cherished Mexican tradition of embracing newcomers with open arms and the warmth of Mexican hospitality. Discova is excited to embark on this journey with him and look forward to achieving great milestones together.
